Hair Transplant

There are several techniques for performing a hair transplant. The best known are follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE). What is this ?

The FUT Method

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) involves removing a strip of scalp from the back of the head to extract and divide the bulbs, then re-implant them on the part where the hair loss is felt. More painful than the FUE method, it will leave scars where the strip of hair was extracted.

The FUE method

Regarding follicular unit extraction (FUE), the surgeon will individually remove healthy hair follicles from the fertile area in order to reimplant them in the sparse area. This technique being much more subtle, the risk of marks is very minimal. When the grafts are ready, the surgeon then proceeds with the implantation hair by hair.

Unlike the hair supplement, the hair transplant does not allow an instant result. In addition to the time of the surgery (at least four hours depending on the area), you will also have to wait several months to find out if the implantation has worked and thus obtain the first results.

Also more expensive than wearing a hair prosthesis, it is possible that the transplant will not meet your expectations. Some grafts may not support reimplantation, it is possible that they will eventually fall out. On the other hand, when the transplant is successful, the result is totally natural and undetectable.

You will therefore have understood that the transplant is a good alternative to hair loss when it is successful, however it is unfortunately not possible to know this in advance.
