PPWR: What Changes for Your BYSIX Orders from August 12th

Starting August 12, 2026, a new European regulation will come into force: the PPWR, or Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. Specifically, this is the new European framework that imposes strict rules on the design, composition, and recyclability of packaging sold in the European Union. No more unnecessary plastic, over-packaging, or non-recyclable materials. Every package placed on the market must now meet precise eco-design criteria.

This law does not concern one country in particular. It applies directly and simultaneously in all 27 member states, without national transposition. In other words, it is not a mere recommendation that can be ignored; from August 12, non-compliant packaging simply cannot be sold in Europe.

BYSIX Has Been Preparing for It Since the Law Was Passed

At BYSIX, we didn't wait until the last minute. Since the adoption of the PPWR, we have been working behind the scenes on our ecological transition to be ready on D-day, without disrupting your orders or deliveries.

One particular point required a lot of work, as BYSIX ships to all 27 countries of the European Union, we had to appoint a compliance manager in each country where we sell. Why? Because the PPWR imposes a common rule across Europe, but there is no single European packaging register. Each Member State manages its own declaration, registration, and compliance monitoring. The result: a company like ours, which delivers throughout Europe, must register and make its declarations separately in each of the 27 countries, with a dedicated local contact each time. This is a considerable administrative and legal effort that we have carried out country by country so that nothing is blocked on August 12.

A Transition Already Well Underway

You may have already noticed some changes in your packages in recent months. This is no coincidence, as we have gradually started replacing several elements of our packaging:

  • the internal cushioning of our packages
  • our shipping cartons
  • the labels on our products
  • some secondary packaging

Other developments will continue to arrive in the coming months. The most visible change will soon concern the packaging of your hair prostheses. We will abandon plastic pouches in favor of ecological cardboard boxes. Other adjustments will also follow, as we fully comply with the regulation.

A Cost We Absorb

Let's be transparent with you: complying with the PPWR represents a real and high cost, between the declarations to be multiplied in each country, the local representatives to be mandated, and the replacement of our packaging with more sustainable solutions. This is a significant investment, especially for a company that delivers throughout Europe like ours.

But we have made a clear choice: rather than passing this cost on to your orders, we are absorbing it directly into our product margin. You will not have to do anything or pay anything extra. You will simply continue to receive your BYSIX products as usual, with packaging that is gradually evolving towards greater ecological responsibility.

This is our way of taking this turn seriously, without burdening you.
